Persecution of the Church

A reading from the Acts of the Apostles 8, 1 – 3:

Now Saul was consenting to the execution of Saint Stephen.
On that day there broke out a severe persecution of the church in Jerusalem, and all were scattered throughout the countryside of Judea and Samaria, except the Apostles. Devout men buried Stephen and made a loud lament over him. Saul, meanwhile, was trying to destroy the church; entering house after house and dragging out men and women, he handed them over for imprisonment.

Yesterday I was at the funeral of my friend Terry Laming who died of a massive heart attack on Sunday. He was only 49 years of age and he leaves behind all his children. At the end of the funeral yesterday afternoon, his son who is only seven years old, raised his hand up in the air and told his mother who was next to him that his papa was just in the air over the altar. He said that he could see him very clearly. This created a great emotion among the whole family. I told them that this shows that Terry is gone to heaven. He was a man of great faith who went to church regularly and prayed his rosary and divine mercy chaplet every day and he was for many years the President of the Pro-Life group of West Prince in Prince Edward Island.

Below you will find the message of Our Blessed Mother given to Father Melvin. She spoke to him these words, “I bless you My son Melvin and all My sons and daughters living in every country of the world. Today as in the time of Saint Stephen there are persecutions against the church in many countries. Many Christians are killed throughout the world for the only reason that they believe and follow My Son Jesus. After Saint Stephen’s death Saul who later became St. Paul, severely persecuted the church in Jerusalem. He had many people arrested and thrown into prison only because they were Christians.
I call you all My children to pray for those who are persecuted. There are some persecuted in our own country because of their wonderful activity in support of Pro-Life. Those who are in favor of abortion cause a lot of suffering to those who wish to follow My Son Jesus. It is the same with those who are against same-sex marriage and euthanasia. All these horrible acts are grave sins and no follower of My Son must condone such acts. All must work hard to get rid of these sinful acts in your country. I am there to help you and to pray for you all. I love you and I bless you all.”

Father Melvin

P.S. We had another beautiful sunny day on Friday and I thank the Lord for this blessing. I am praying these days for money to help me pay my bills. I am really short these days. May the Lord give you all His love, peace and joy.
