Courage under Persecution

A reading from the Gospel of Saint Matthew 10, 26 – 33:

Jesus said, “Therefore do not be afraid of them. Nothing is concealed that will not be revealed, nor secret that will not be known. What I say to you in the darkness, speak in the light; what you hear whispered, proclaim on the housetops. And do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; rather, be afraid of the one who can destroy both soul and body in Gehenna. Are not two sparrows sold for a small coin? Yet not one of them falls to the ground without your Father’s knowledge. Even all the hairs of your head are counted. So do not be afraid, you are worth more than many sparrows. Everyone who acknowledges me before others, I will acknowledge before my heavenly Father. But whoever denies me before others, I will deny before my heavenly Father.”

Our Blessed Mother will come to visit me on March 25, the Feast of the Annunciation. She comes every year on this date. She will appear in the chapel I had built for Her. I am awaiting Her visit with great anticipation and love. I will publish Her message in the Newsletter which will appear in April. If anyone is interested, please send $12.00 if you live in Canada and $15.00 if you live outside Canada for a yearly subscription to the Newsletter.

Below you will find the message of our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words, “Do not be afraid My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who follow Me every day. Many people will undergo persecution during their life on earth. You will be accused of all kinds of falsehood and you will be hated because of your faith in Me. Do not be afraid of these people whether they are of the government, the army, the police or just a group of people. Those people are working not for Me but for the devil. They want to get rid of all those who teach the Good News, who pray regularly and go to church at least every Sunday. You know for over two hundred years after I founded My Church, My followers in Rome and in many parts of Europe were persecuted and others were killed as martyrs although they did not do anything wrong. Even today over one hundred thousand Christians are killed every year because of their faith in Me. I tell you if you die a martyr, then you go strait to heaven. No martyr passes through Purgatory. All their sufferings takes away all the result of their sins so they are ready for heaven. Remember Our Heavenly Father loves you all and He knows you better than you know yourself. Remain always in union with Him and with Me and you will be in heaven one day. I love you all.”

    Dear Father Melvin,
On Feb. 1 I attended “A Day With Mary” at my parish church. This consisted of Mass, Holy Rosary, Adoration, Confession, Beautiful Hymns and prayer. I was unable to attend the morning portion because I was teaching first graders in our CCD Program.
When I entered the church the Monstrance with the Blessed Sacrament was being processed in the church and I took my seat. I closed my eyes and began to pray and experience the peace and beauty of the moment. When I opened my eyes the candles on the side altar which has a beautiful picture of Our Lady of Guadalupe over it were
lit with tiny lights encircling them from top to bottom. This was a Miracle of the Lights that you spoke of. This lasted throughout the entire event. How blessed am I to experience my Jesus in this manner. Thank you Father for sharing this blessing with us. You are always in my prayers.
    Yours in Jesus & Mary,
    Rosemarie Olivadesa

      Dear Rosemarie,
Thank you for sharing your experience in the church with me. It shows that Jesus who said “I am the light” was there in the church for you. He has given you special graces and I am sure He has strengthen your faith. Remain also close to Jesus by praying every day and by going to Holy Mass and receiving Holy Communion every Sunday. May the Lord bless you.
