The Parable of the Great Feast

A reading from the Gospel of Saint Luke 14, 15 – 24:

One of Jesus’ fellow guests said to him, “Blessed is the one who will dine in the Kingdom of God.” Jesus replied to him, “A man gave a great dinner in which he invited many. When the time for the dinner came, he dispatched his servant to say to those invited, ‘Come, everything is now ready.’ But one by one, they all began to excuse themselves. The first said to him, ‘I have purchased a field and must go to examine it; I ask you, consider me excused.’ And another said, ‘I have purchased five yoke of oxen and am on my way to evaluate them; I ask you, consider me excused.’ And another said, ‘I have just married a woman, and therefore I cannot come.’ The servant went and reported this to his master. Then the master of the house in a rage commanded his servant, ‘Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and bring in here the poor and the crippled, the blind and the lame.’ The servant reported, “Sir, your orders have been carried out and still there is room.’ The master then ordered the servant, ‘Go out to the highways and hedgerows and make people come in that my house may be filled. For I tell you, none of those men who were invited will taste my dinner.’

Today is my great day, the day of my birthday. The day started with a little snow but not much fell only about two or three mm. We were supposed to get between 5 and 10 mm. but just a bit fell. The sun came out in the afternoon and the snow melted a bit. There was again water on the road because some snow melted. I had a great day and many, many people phoned me to wish me a “Happy Birthday.” I thank all those who phoned me and those who prayed for me.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“You are all invited to a very great feast in heaven My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who follow Me. I spoke to the Apostles and to the people who followed Me about the great feast to which they are all called. When it was time for the feast, the master sent his servant to call all those who were invited. However, they refused to come and they gave excuses why they could not come. When the servant reported to the master, he was angry and asked him to go around and call every person he could find: the poor, the crippled, the blind and the lame. Still the hall was not full. So the master sent him out further to call everybody. He went and now the hall was full but those who had been invited at the beginning were not present.
This feast that I spoke about is the Feast of Heaven. You are all called but many will not make it because they refused to follow Me and do what I was asking them to do. This shows first that the Jewish people did not enter the kingdom because they rejected Me and had Me killed. However, the Gentiles are invited and many have come to follow Me and these will be at the Great Banquet in heaven. Come follow Me and you will be blessed. I love you all.”

Conduct of Invited Guests and Hosts

Conduct of Invited Guests and Hosts

A reading from the Gospel of Saint Luke 14, 7 – 14:

Jesus told a parable to those who had been invited, noticing how they were choosing the places of honor at the table. “When you are invited by someone to a wedding banquet, do not recline at table in the place of honor. A more distinguished guest than you may have been invited by him, and the host who invited both of you may reproach you and say, ‘Give your place to this man,’ and then you would proceed with embarrassment to take the lowest place. Rather, when you are invited, go and take the lowest place so that when the host comes to you he may say, ‘My friend, move up to a higher position.’ Then you will enjoy the esteem of your companions at the table. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself with be exalted.” Then he said to the host who invited him, “When you hold a lunch or a dinner, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or your wealthy neighbors, in case they may invite you back and you have repayment. Rather, when you hold a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind; blessed indeed will you be because of their inability to repay you. For you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”

What a beautiful sunny day we had today Sunday, the 1st of March. The snow on the roads was melting. I went to Tignish this afternoon and there was water on the road everywhere and the wheels of the car were on the pave with hardly any snow. This shows that the sun is hotter now in March and we should have nicer weather in the days to come.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“Be of humble heart My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who are always ready to listen to Me. I told a parable at a banquet one day because I saw that the invited ones came in and went straight to the places of honor. I told those who do this that they could be humiliated if a more important person should come in and the host wants to give him a place of honor. The host would tell you to leave this place to his guest. You would have to leave and take the lowest position in the place. No, what you should do is to take the lowest place when you come in and the host will come to you and tell you to move up higher and you will be full of joy. I told the people present that everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but those who humble themselves will be exalted.
Humility is a great virtue and today very few practice it. Never think that you are greater or better than somebody else. All who do this are full of pride and that is sinful. Consider yourself much less than all those present and be ready to go to the lowest place if it is possible. In this case you will show the people that you are a humble person.
I told the Apostles that I was humble of heart and that I loved all those who were humble of heart. In your humility, you would be full of love for every person and always be ready to do what you were asked to do. In that case one day you will be with Me in heaven enjoying the result of your humility: happiness forever. I love you all.”

P.S. Today I will celebrate my birthday and thank you for all your prayers.

Healing of the Man with Dropsy on the Sabbath

Healing of the Man with Dropsy on the Sabbath

A reading from the Gospel of Saint Luke 14, 1 – 6:

On a sabbath Jesus went to dine at the house of one of the leading Pharisees, and the people there were observing him carefully. In front of him there was a man suffering from dropsy. Jesus spoke to the scholars of the law and Pharisees in reply, asking, “Is it lawful to cure on the sabbath or not?” But they kept silent; so he took the man and, after he had healed him, dismissed him. Then he said to them, “Who among you, if your son or ox falls into a cistern, would not immediately pull him out on the sabbath day?” But they were unable to answer his question.

We have now arrived in March and the beginning of the Spring season will soon be here. My birthday will be on March 2nd and I ask you all to pray for me that my health will remain good to continue to work given to me by Our Lord and Our Blessed Mother. Again I thank all those who have sent a donation so that I can get over the problems I have. Here in Prince Edward Island we are entering the month of March with the bright sun and no clouds in the sky. The temperature is good at -9 degrees Celsius.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“You know My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters that I am the great healer. I healed many, many people when I was on earth. There is the story of My healing of a man with dropsy and it was on the Sabbath day. The leaders of the Jews and the Pharisees believed that it was a sin to heal a sick person because one is not supposed to work on the Sabbath and healing is work. When I saw this man with dropsy, I asked the Jews and the Pharisees this question: ‘Is it lawful to cure on the Sabbath or not?’ These people refused to say anything. So I went and healed this man and he went home. Then I asked those men that if a son or ox would fall into a cistern, would they not immediately pull him out on the Sabbath day. They were not able to give me an answer.
It is a fact that the Jewish leaders went too far with their restrictions. It is true that you are not suppose to work on Sunday because it is the Day of the Lord. However, it might happen that you need to do something to help someone and this is allowed. You are to help the sick, the poor and the naked any day of the week. They are suffering and you were given this commandment: Love your neighbor as yourself. This is what I did with this sick man. I helped him by curing him on the Sabbath. I did not make any money but I use My power to help him. There are many sick and poor people these days and they need your help. Go and help them even if it is the Day of the Lord. I bless you all.”
