The Parable of the Lost Son

A reading atherrom the Gospel of Saint Luke 15, 11 – 24:

Then Jesus said, “A man had two sons, and the younger son said to his father, ‘Father, give me the share of your estate that should come to me.’ So the father divided the property between them. After a few days, the younger son collected all his belongings and set off to a distant country where he squandered his inheritance on a life of dissipation. When he had freely spent everything, a severe famine struck that country, and he found himself in dire need. So he hired himself out to one of the local citizens who sent him to his farm to tend the swine. And he longed to eat his fill of the pods on which the swine fed, but nobody gave him any. Coming to his senses, he thought, ‘How many of my father’s hired workers have more than enough food to eat, but here am I, dying from hunger. I shall get up and go to my father and I shall say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I no longer deserve to be called your son; treat me as you would treat one of your hired workers.” So he got up and went back to his father. While he was still a long way off, his father caught sight of him, and was filled with compassion. He ran to his son, embraced him and kissed him. His son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you, I no longer deserve to be called your son.’ But his father ordered his servants, ‘Quickly bring the finest robe and put it on him, put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. Take the fattened calf and slaughter it. Then let us celebrate with a feast, because this son of mine was dead, and has come to life again: he was lost, and has been found.’ Then the celebration began.”

Yesterday there were two snowstorms coming straight for Prince Edward Island. One came from Canada especially Ontario and Quebec and this storm when he got close to the Island it went north to Labrador and we did not get any snow at all. The second storm came from the south. It hit New York City and Boston for two days now and it is still there at this time. It hit eastern Prince Edward Island but it did not touch us in the western part of the Island. We had sunshine almost all day yesterday and again today. I thank the Lord for sparing us this snow. Our Lady of Prince Edward Island protected Her part of the Island.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who are always near to me, I wish to tell you about the lost son in the parable I gave to the Apostles and all those gathered around Me one day in Israel. This man has two sons and the younger son, one day asked his father to divide his property among them. The father did so and a few days later the younger son left home and went to a foreign country. He lived a very sinful life and squandered all his money. At the end he was tired and hungry. A famine came and he had to hire himself out to a farmer who had pigs. It is something for a Jew to take care of pigs because Jews do not eat pigs and they say they are unclean. This lost son did not work long there but soon he decided to return home to his father. He agreed to confess that he was a sinner and now his father should treat him as a hired hand. However, when his father saw him coming still far from his home, he ran to meet him and embraced and kissed him. He got him new clothes and put a ring on his finger. Then he prepared a great feast for the father said that his son was dead and now he is alive. He was lost and now he is found. So they celebrated with great joy.
The lost son in this parable is every person living in this world. Every person is a sinner and therefore a lost person. The father in the parable is God the Father who gave you all what you need to live in this world. However, one day you turned against Our Heavenly Father and walk with the evil one. However, when you repent of your sins, God the Father is so happy and He comes and welcomes you again. You become His sons or daughters and He brings you into His Kingdom. So you are all called to repent of your sins and to receive the sacrament of confession and be reconciled to God the Father. Come My dear friends and return to the home of Our Father and you will be blessed. I love you all.”

The Parable of the Lost Sheep

The Parable of the Lost Sheep

A reading from the Gospel of Saint Luke 15, 1 – 7:

The tax collectors and sinners were all drawing near to listen to Jesus, but the Pharisees and scribes began to complain, saying, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.” So to them Jesus addressed this parable, “What man among you having a hundred sheep and losing one of them would not leave the ninety-nine in the desert and go after the lost one until he finds it? And when he does find it, he sets it on his shoulders with great joy and, upon his arrival home, he calls together his friends and neighbors and say to them, ‘Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep.’ I tell you, in just the same way there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need of repentance.”

We had a beautiful day on Wednesday. It was sunny for most of the day and the temperature came to 2 degrees Celsius (34 degrees F). We had a little bit of snow the night before but the two storms coming our way did not reach us, one turn north and the other from the south passed by New York and Boston then touched Nova Scotia and went out into the sea. Today the snow began to melt and the roads were full of water.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“There is a great story in the parable of the lost sheep My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who love to read the Gospel. I told the story of this man who had one hundred sheep and lost one. He left the ninety-nine in the desert and went in search of the lost one. He found it and placed it on his shoulders and with great joy returned home. He called his friends and neighbors and they rejoiced with him because he had found his sheep.
This parable is applied to sinners. If one sinner out of ninety-nine repents of his sins, there will be great joy in heaven. This means that this person who was following the evil way has turned around and now follows His Lord and Savior. This is why I came into the world to save as many sinners as possible who had no chance to get to heaven. It was through My sacrifice on the cross that I won the salvation of these sinners. I am calling every person to repent of his sins and come and unite with Me and they will be in heaven with Me one day. Pray My friends that all sinners may receive the graces they need to follow Me and to be saved. I love you all and I bless you.”

Sayings on Discipleship

Sayings on Discipleship

A reading from the Gospel of Saint Luke 14, 25 – 35:

Great crowds were traveling with Jesus, and he turned and addressed them, “If anyone comes to me without hating his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple. Whoever does not carry his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple. Which of you wishing to construct a tower does not first sit down and calculate the cost to see if there is enough for its completion? Otherwise, after laying the foundation and finding himself unable to finish the work the onlookers should laugh at him and say, ‘That one began to build but did not have the resources to finish.’ Or what king marching into battle would not first sit down and decide whether with ten thousand troops he can successfully oppose another king advancing upon him with twenty thousand troops? But if not, while he is still far away, he will send a delegation to ask for peace terms. In the same way, everyone of you who does not renounce all his possessions cannot be my disciples.
Salt is good, but if salt itself loses its taste, with what can its flavor be restored? It is fit neither for the soil nor for the manure pile; it is thrown out. Whoever has ears to hear ought to hear.”

I wish to thank all those who phoned me and wish me a Happy Birthday. There are still some who phoned me today. I also thank all those who sent me a birthday gift and also I thank all those who prayed for me. May the Lord bless you all and fill you with His love, peace and joy.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“You have to love Me above every person, My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters, if you want to be My disciple. It is written in the Bible that you have to hate your father and mother, your wife and children, your brothers and sisters, and even your own life, to become My disciple. Now the word used here is “hate” but what I meant was “to love Me above all the others.” I must be the first in your life otherwise you will follow the others and at times you will reject Me. If what others say is contrary to what I taught you, then you are to follow Me and not the others who might be close relatives of yours.
I gave you the simile of salt. If salt loses its taste, it is no good and it is thrown out. You are to be like salt with your great taste of love. You are called to love Me with all your heart and soul and you will be blessed. Keep up the good work and never forget that I am there with you at all times. I love you and I give you all the graces you need.”
