The Rich Official

A reading from the Gospel of Saint Luke 18, 18 – 23:

An official asked him this question, “Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” Jesus answered him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good but God alone. You know the commandments, ‘You shall not commit adultery; you shall not kill; you shall not steal; you shall not bear false witness; honor your father and your mother.'” And he replied, “All of these I have observed from my youth.” When Jesus heard this he said to him, “There is still one thing left for you, sell all that you have and distribute it to the poor, and you will have a treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” But when he heard this he became quite sad, for he was very rich.

We had another fierce winter storm yesterday and today. The storm ended this afternoon and the sun came out. We received nearly a foot of snow (about 20 cm). The roads are not cleared yet and of course my driveway is not cleared. There is a snowbank at my back door once again. I pray that these snowstorm will end now. There is still plenty of snow on the ground here and soon it will be springtime so it should disappear in the next few weeks.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“I hope that you are ready to do what I ask you to do My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who accept Me as your Redeemer. In the parable of the rich official you see that this man was an observer of all the commandments, but when I told him to give away to the poor all he had and to come and follow Me, he refused because he was rich. It is a fact that it is very difficult for a rich man to enter heaven for he is attached to his money. All believers of mine should be ready to do all that I ask of them. If I call you to be a priest or a religious, you should be ready to accept this call and to follow it. I called the twelve Apostles and they all agreed to follow Me although one of them turned against Me and sold Me for thirty pieces of silver. The others however followed Me all their lives and all of them except one are martyrs, who gave their lives out of love for Me. Be ready My friends to give up everything you have in order to follow My call. If you do so then you surely will be in heaven with Me one day. Do not be like this rich official who could not give up his money out of love for Me. I bless you all.”

The Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector

The Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector

A reading from the Gospel of Saint Luke 18, 9 – 14:

Jesus then addressed this parable to those who were convinced of their own righteousness and despised everyone else. “Two people went up to the temple area to pray; one was a Pharisee and the other was a tax collector. The Pharisee took up his position and spoke this prayer to himself, ‘O God, I thank you that I am not like the rest of humanity–greedy, dishonest, adulterous–or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week, and I pay tithes on my whole income.’ But the tax collector stood off at a distance and would not even raise his eyes to heaven but beat his breast and prayed, ‘O God, be merciful to me a sinner.’ I tell you, the latter went home justified, not the former; for everyone who exalts himself with be humbled, and the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”

I thank the few people who sent me some money yesterday. Friday is coming and I need this last part of the money if I am going to get the money that I was promised. I hope this will be the last amount to pay before the money comes in. I thank you all for your help and I pray for you all every day.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“Be humble My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who love your Heavenly Father and I His Son. You read the parable of the Pharisee and the tax collector. The Pharisee was full of pride and showing off before His Father that he follows everything very well and he says that he is happy that he is not like the tax collector. However, the tax collector is very humble and he knows that he is a sinner so his words are these: ‘O God, be merciful to me a sinner.’ It was the tax collector who was blessed by the Father for his humility.
My dear friends, I call you all to imitate the tax collector. Know that you are sinners and so pray for mercy so that the Father will forgive you and give you the strength and the graces you need to follow Him in the future. Do not look at yourself as being better than other people. You are all sinners so be humble and see yourself as less worthy than any other. In this way, I will bless you and give you My love, peace and joy. I love you all.”

The Parable of the Persistent Widow

May 15, 2015

The Parable of the Persistent Widow

A reading from the Gospel of Saint Luke 18, 1 – 8:

Then Jesus told them a parable about the necessity for them to pray always without becoming weary. He said, “There was a judge in a certain town who neither feared God nor respected any human being. And a widow in that town used to come to him and say, ‘Render a just decision for me against my adversary.’ For a long time the judge was unwilling, but eventually he thought, ‘While it is true that I neither fear God nor respect any human being, because this widow keeps bothering me, I shall deliver a just decision for her lest she finally come and strike me.'” The Lord said, “Pay attention to what the dishonest judge says. Will not God then secure the rights of his chosen ones who call out to him day and night? Will he be slow to answer them? I tell you, he will see to it that justice is done for them speedily. But when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?”

I wish to thank all those who sent me money to pay my bills. I still need $2,000 to finish paying my bills. I need money to repair my car and at this time I do not have any. I do not know how I am to buy food to eat. So if anyone can help me during this difficult time, I would be so thankful indeed. I am praying that the money will come in during the next few days. I am praying for all of you.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“Do not become weary of praying My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who are asking Our Heavenly Father for help. Sometimes it takes a bit of time before you receive what you ask. The parable of the widow shows you what can happen at times. She went to the judge to ask him to render a just decision for her against her adversary. As she went continuously to see him and ask him to help her, after awhile he accepted to pass the just decision for her. I show you that you must be persistent in praying so that the Father will grant you what you want. Some ask once or twice and then stop and then they tell others that the Father did not answer their prayers. No, continue to pray every day until you receive what you asked. Remember the Father loves you and He wants to give you all you ask. Sometimes He wants to see if you have strong faith, for faith is very important for Him to answer your prayer. Pray daily for an increase of faith for faith is of great importance for all Christians. The Father cannot answer a prayer if you do not have faith or just a little faith. I call you all to pray every day for all the people of the world that they may have great faith and accept Me as their Savior. You cannot go to heaven if you do not have faith. So pray that all the people near and far may believe in God the Father and in Me your Savior and Lord. I bless you all.”
