The Ascension of Jesus
A reading from the Acts of the Apostles 1, 6 – 12:
When the Apostles had gathered together they asked him, “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the Kingdom of Israel?” Jesus answered them, “It is not for you to know the times or seasons that the Father has established by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, throughout Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” When he had said this, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him from their sight. While they were looking intently at the sky as he was going, suddenly two men dressed in white garments stood beside them. They said, “Men of Galilee, why are you standing there looking at the sky? This Jesus who has been taken up from you into heaven will return in the same way as you have seen him going into heaven.” Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day’s journey away.
I have been praying all day to Our Lord and Our Blessed Mother about the money that is supposed to come in for the building of the shrine and the two monasteries, one for the Contemplative Brothers of Jesus and the other for the Contemplative Sisters of Jesus. It is Jesus who asked for these buildings. Now in order to receive the money at the court, I need to give them $2,500 by Tuesday. If any of you can help please send the money by paypal or straight to my bank account. Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“I bless you My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters as you arrive at the Great Feast of My Ascension. It was forty days after My Resurrection that I took the Apostles up the mountain and spoke to them. I told them that they were to stay in Jerusalem and in a short time they would receive the Holy Spirit with great power and then they will go throughout the world to teach the people about Me. I had to leave them so that the Holy Spirit could come upon them. So after this I was lifted up and a cloud took Me from their sight. I left them and went to heaven where I now sit at the right hand of the Father as your King and Lord. The Apostles stayed there and were looking up to heaven when they saw two men dressed in white who told them these words, “Men of Galilee, why are you standing there looking at the sky? This Jesus who has been taken up from you into heaven will return in the same way as you have seen him going into heaven.” Then the Apostles returned to Jerusalem to await the coming of the Holy Spirit.
My dear friends, please prepare yourselves today to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit so that He will give you the strength to follow Me and to avoid sin. I bless you all.”
Father Melvin
