The Lord’s Prayer
A reading from the Gospel of Saint Luke 11, 1 – 8:
Jesus was praying in a certain place, and when he had finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray just as John taught his disciples.” Jesus said to them, “When you pray, say:
Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come.
Give us each day our daily bread and forgive us our sins
for we ourselves forgive everyone in debt to us,
and do not subject us to the final test.”
And Jesus said to them, “Suppose one of you has a friend to whom he goes at midnight and says, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread, for a friend of mine has arrived at my house from a journey and I have nothing to offer him,’ and he says in reply from within, ‘Do not bother me; the door has already been locked and my children and I are already in bed. I cannot get up to give you anything.’ I tell you, if he does not get up to give him the loaves because of their friendship, he will get up to give him whatever he needs because of his persistence.
I thank all those who sent me money to pay my bills. I did not receive all the money yet but the money has started to come. I will receive more next week. I hope in the next ten days I will receive all that I need. Our Blessed Mother is definitely thanking you for the money you sent and She will intercede for you for all that you need. She loves you all.
Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“Today I am teaching you a prayer My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who pray regularly. I taught the Apostles the prayer “The Our Father” and all My followers should pray this prayer many times a day. Saint Luke gave a short version of the prayer but the full prayer I gave is in Saint Matthew’s Gospel. This is what I taught them:
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread, and forgive us our debts,
as we forgive our debtors, and do not subject us to the final test,
but deliver us from the evil one.
You start this prayer by giving honor to Our Heavenly Father and you pray that His Kingdom come and that His will be done here and in heaven. Ask Him every day for the food you need and ask Your Heavenly Father to forgive you all your sins. At the same time you have to forgive all those who have sinned against you. If you do not forgive them then Your Father in heaven will not forgive you. At the end you pray that you will not be subject to the final test which is also called temptation, and you will be delivered from the devil.
I call you to look at every person as a friend and you have to be ready to help him or her at any time. I gave the example of a man who came and knocked at the door of his friend’s house and it was midnight and they were all in bed. This man wanted loaves of bread to feed a friend who had just arrived. At the beginning the friend did not want to get up but after asking more than once he finally got up and gave him what he wanted. This is how we should show our love to our friends. I bless you all and please pray every day.”
