The Parable of the Good Samaritan
A reading from the Gospel of Saint Luke 10, 29 – 37:
But because this man wished to justify himself, he said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?” Jesus replied, “A man fell victim to robbers as he went down from Jerusalem to Jericho. They stripped and beat him and went off leaving him half-dead. A priest happened to be going down that road, but when he saw him, he passed by on the opposite side. Likewise a Levite came to the place, and when he saw him, he passed by on the opposite side. But a Samaritan traveler who came upon him was moved with compassion at the sight. He approached the victim, poured oil and wine over his wounds and bandaged them. Then he lifted him up on his own animal, took him to an inn and cared for him. The next day he took out two silver coins and gave them to the innkeeper with the instruction, ‘Take care of him. If you spend more than what I have given you, I shall repay you on my way back.’ Which of these three, in your opinion, was neighbor to the robbers’ victim?” He answered, “The one who treated him with mercy.” Jesus said to him, “God and do likewise.”
I have all sorts of bills to pay but I have no money to pay them. I need $400 to buy heating oil, I need $120 to buy medication for my sickness, I need $350 to pay for insurance for my car and I need $180 to have my car inspected and to change the oil in the car and at the end I need new tires and that costs about $700. If anyone of you can help me to pay these bills I would be very happy indeed. May the Lord bless you all.
Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“I bless you My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who are attached to Me and who love Me. Today you read My teaching from the Bible about the good neighbor. When you find a person who has been beaten, or who is sick or very depressed, what would you do with that person. Will you act like the priest and the Levite and just pass by without helping him? Instead would you act like the Good Samaritan and take care of that poor man? If you are a follower of mine, you ought to act like the Good Samaritan. You should help this poor man and bind his wounds and take him with you. In this way you will show that person that you love him as I told you to do. My commandment to you, My friends, is this: Love God with all your heart and soul and love your neighbor as yourself. You should always be kind to those you meet and you should greet them from the heart. You should look at your neighbor the same way you would look at Me, your Savior. Remember I love you and I died for you to atone for your sins and to make of you a son or a daughter of My Father and My own brother or sister. I bless you and never forget that I love you with all My heart.”

P.S. We had a beautiful sunny day but it was cold.
