The Call of Simon the Fisherman
A reading from the Gospel of Saint Luke 5, 1 – 11:
While the crowd was pressing in on Jesus and listening to the word of God, he was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret. He saw two boats there alongside the lake; the fishermen had disembarked and were washing their nets. Getting into one of the boats, the one belonging to Simon, he asked him to put out a short distance from the shore. Then he sat down and taught the crowds from the boat. After he had finished speaking; he said to Simon, “Put out into deep water and lower your nets for a catch.” Simon said in reply, “Master, we have worked hard all night and have caught nothing, but at your command I will lower the nets.” When they had done this, they caught a great number of fish and their nets were tearing. They signaled to their partners in the other boat to come to help them. They came and filled both boats so that they were in danger of sinking. When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at the knees of Jesus and said, “Depart from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man.” For astonishment at the catch of fish they had made seized him and all those with him, and likewise James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were partners of Simon. Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be afraid, from now on you will be catching men.” When they brought their boats to the shore, they left everything and followed him.
I found all the money I needed except for $1,000. I need that money as soon as possible so I can pay the court and then receive Our Blessed Mother’s money to build Her shrine and to build the two monasteries that Jesus asked me to do. Please pray that this money will come in tomorrow.
Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“You all have a call from Me My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who have dedicated your lives to Me. Let us look at the call of Simon Peter who became the head of the Church I founded. I was by a lake and many people came there to listen to Me. Simon Peter was there washing his nets as he had gone fishing the whole night. There was another boat of his friends there too. The people were pressing in on Me as they wanted to listen to My teaching. So I got into Peter’s boat and I told him to put out a short distance from the shore. After I had finished teaching the people I told Peter to go out into the deep and to lower his net. He did so and the net was full of fish. He called the people in the other boat to come and help him. They filled both boats with the fish. They were amazed at seeing all that fish. Then I told Simon Peter these words, “Do not be afraid, for now on you will be catching men.” That was his call to become an Apostle and to be in time the leader of My Church.
I call you to spend time in prayer and listen to My little voice in your heart. I will give you too the mission I have for you. Accept what I will tell you and you will receive all the graces you need to accomplish this mission. I love you and bless you all.”
