The Burial of Jesus

A reading from the Gospel of Saint Matthew 27, 57 – 66:

When it was evening, there came a rich man from Arimathea named Joseph, who was himself a disciple of Jesus. He went to Pilate an asked for the body of Jesus; then Pilate ordered it to be handed over. Taking the body, Joseph wrapped it in clean linen and laid it in his new tomb that he had hewn in the rock. Then he rolled a huge stone across the entrance to the tomb and departed. But Mary Magdalene and the other Mary remained sitting there, facing the tomb.
The next day, the one following the day of preparation, the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered before Pilate and said, “Sir, we remember that this imposter while still alive said, ‘After three days I will be raised up.’ Give orders, then, that the grave be secured until the third day, lest his disciples come and steal him and say to the people, ‘He has been raised from the dead.’ This last imposture would be worst than the first.” Pilate said to them, “The guard is yours, go secure it at best you can.” So they went and secured the tomb by fixing a seal to the stone and setting the guard.

Next week there will be a lot of changes in the Diocese here. The bishop has changed many priests and some priests from India have come into the diocese. At the parish to which I belong there will be a new priest by the name of Father Albin Arsenault, whom I know very well. Please pray for him that the transition will go well.

Below you will find the message of Our Dear Mother given to Father Melvin. She spoke to him these words,

“I bless you My son Melvin and all My sons and daughters who will read this message of mine. As you know I was present at the foot of the cross of My Son Jesus when He died. My suffering was very great just like a sword had pierced My heart. I was present when they buried My Son in a brand new tomb. The one who arranged everything was Joseph of Aramathea. He gave his own tomb for Jesus’ burial. He wrapped His body in a linen cloth and he closed the tomb. However, before My Son Jesus was buried and just after He was taken from the cross, I was given His body to hold it on My knees. I felt great pain holding the dead body of My Son who gave His life for the salvation of all the people of the world. After the burial, I stayed for some time at the tomb telling My Son how much I loved Him and I thanked Him for His great sacrifice for all the people. I knew that He would rise from the dead on the third day and I went home to await this great day. Come My children and remain always close to Jesus, My Son, and your Savior. He loves you all.”

P.S. It rained Friday morning but the sun came out in the afternoon. We had a beautiful sunny evening and no wind and the temperature was about 15 degrees Celsius. May the Lord bless you all.
