The Calming of the Storm at Sea
A reading from the Gospel of Saint Matthew 8, 21 – 34:
Jesus got into a boat and his disciples followed him. Suddenly a violent storm came up on the sea, so that the boat was being swamped by waves, but he was asleep. They came and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We are perishing!” He said to them, “Why are you terrified. O you of little faith?” Then he got up, rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was great calm. The men were amazed and said, “What sort of man is this, whom even the winds and the sea obey?”
When he came to the other side, to the territory of the Gadarenes, two demoniacs who were coming from the tombs met him. They were so savage that no one could travel by the road. They cried out, “What have you to do with us, Son of God? Have you come here to torment us before the appointed time?” Some distance away a herd of many swine was feeding. The demons pleaded with him, “If you drive us out, send us into the herd of swine.” And he said to them, “Go then!” They came out and entered the swine, and the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the sea where they drowned. The swineherds ran away, and when they came to the town they reported everything, including what had happened to the demoniacs. Thereupon the whole town came out to meet Jesus, and when they saw him they begged him to leave their district.
On Saturday morning we had sunshine but a few hours later the clouds rolled in and the sky was covered until evening although we hardly had any snow. In fact the temperature during the afternoon went up to 3 degrees Celsius.
Below you will find the message of Our Lord, the Son of God, given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words, “I bless you My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who read My messages. You know that as the Son of God I have all power to heal, to chase evil spirits and to calm the storms on the sea. One day as My Apostles and I were crossing the sea, a storm came up and the Apostles were terrified as they thought they would all drown. I was asleep in the boat. They woke Me up telling Me that they were going to drown. Imagine being in the boat with the Son of God and thinking they would drown. It shows that they had very little faith indeed. This was at the beginning of My public life and the Apostles did not have much faith yet in Me. Anyway I got up and put out My hand and rebuked the wind and the wind stopped and there were no more waves on the sea. This miracle made the Apostles think and ask themselves this question: ‘What sort of man is this?’ They thought that I was just a man like them. They did not know that I had two natures, one divine and one human.
That same day I met two men who were possessed and everyone was afraid of them. They were savages. The evil spirits recognized Me and they knew that I was the Son of God. They knew that I would chase them away from these men so they asked to be sent them into the pigs that were nearby. I did just what they asked and the huge number of evil spirits entered the herd of pigs and they ran down to the sea and drowned. Again the Apostles saw this and they were amazed. They had never seen anything like this in the past. So as the Savior I came into the world to bring the people out of darkness into the light, to suffer terribly for the atonement of all their sins, to heal the sick and to chase away the evil spirits who inhabited many people. So I wanted all of the people to be free from this slavery and to come and follow Me.
My dear friends, it is now the time of Lent so I ask you all to come into the light, to repent of your sins and to follow Me. You have these forty days to change your life and to climb the mountain of holiness. All of you are to strive for holiness by doing good, praying every day and going to church as often as you can and to go to confession and to receive Me in Holy Communion. Be My friends and you will be blessed. I love you all.”
