The Two Foundations

A reading from the Gospel of Saint Matthew 7, 24 – 29:

Jesus said, “Everyone who listens to these words of mine and acts on them, will be like a wise man who built his house on rock. The rain fell, the floods came and the winds blew and buffered the house. But it did not collapse; it had been set solidly on rock. And everyone who listens to these words of mine but does not act on them will be like a fool who built his house on sand. The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and buffered the house. And it collapsed and was completely ruined.”
When Jesus finished these words, the crowds were astonished at his teaching, for he taught them as one having authority, and not as their scribes.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, begins the season of Lent. This is the day that the Church blesses us with ashes to remind us that we are dust and into dust we shall return. We are not going to stay on earth forever but every human being living will die except those who will be alive when Jesus returns at the end of time. So we have to prepare ourselves for our new home in heaven. So let us take this time of Lent to repent of our sins and to return to the practice of our faith and to pray regularly.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“I call you My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters to take My words to heart and to follow them. You have seen in times of disaster such as floods, high winds or heavy rain that some houses collapse during these times and others houses remain standing as if nothing had happened. It all depends how the houses were built and if they have a solid foundation.
It is the same with your life. My question is: On what did you build your life, My friends? Did you build it on worldly pleasure: drinking, eating, drugs, worldly music, or following your own unruly desires or lust? If that is how you live your life, then I am sorry to tell you that you are on the way to hell. In the next world you will have a life of terrible suffering and pain.
However, if you life is lived in union with Me. You love to hear My words and to follow them every day. You will spend your life praying, avoiding all sin, going to church regularly, receiving Me in Holy Communion and you will receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation and you will open your heart completely to Me to receive all the good things I have for you. If you act this way, then one day will be in heaven filled with great joy and happiness. This is what I have prepared for each and every one of you. So come and follow Me and you will be blessed. I love you all.”

Father Melvin

P.S. I will pray for you all during the period of Lent that you will come close to Jesus and receive many graces.
