The Flight into Egypt
A reading from the Gospel of Saint Matthew 2, 13 – 18:
When the Magi had departed, behold, the angel of the lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, Rise, take the child and his mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I tell you. Herod is going to search for the child to destroy him.” Joseph rose and took the child and his mother by night and departed for Egypt. He stayed there until the death of Herod, that what the Lord had said through the prophet might be fulfilled, “Out of Egypt, I called my son.”
When Herod realized that he had been deceived by the magi, he became furious. He ordered the massacre of all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity two years old and under, in accordance with the time he had ascertained from the magi. Then was fulfilled what had been said through Jeremiah the prophet:
“A voice was heard in Ramah, sobbing and loud lamentation;
Rachel weeping for her children, and she would not be consoled,
since they were no ore.”
We are suppose to have a snow storm and some rain tonight Thursday to Friday. I am praying that not much snow or rain will fall here so that I can get out on Saturday.
Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“I know you believe in Satan My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who read the Bible often. When I was still very young the King of Israel, King Herod, decided to kill all the boys from two years of age and under living in Bethlehem and its surrounding. How horrible the king was to kill all these innocent children.
My foster father was told by an angel to flee with Me and My Mother to Egypt. So that very night he took us and we fled. Because the Magi had not return to King Herod, he got angry and sent the army to kill all these small children. Many were killed and the prophet Jeremiah had predicted that the women would be crying because their children were no more.These innocent children are all in heaven because they died as they were identified to Me. By killing them they thought they would kill Me too.
So you see as soon as I was born, Satan wanted to destroy Me. King Herod acted to kill Me because he was influenced by Satan. However, My heavenly Father saved Me by getting My parents to flee with Me to Egypt. We stayed there some years and Joseph was a carpenter so he worked to make sure that we had some food to eat and a place to stay.
My dear friends, never give freedom to Satan to do his horrible acts. Instead stay united to Me and I will protect you and I will give you the graces you need to say ‘no’ to the temptations from Satan. I love you and I have come on earth to save you. Come follow Me.”
