Exhortation to Christian Virtue

December 15, 2013

Dear Friends,

Exhortation to Christian Virtue

A reading from the second Letter of Saint Peter 1, 1 – 11:

Simon Peter, a slave and apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who have received a faith of equal value to our through the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ: may grace and peace be yours in abundance through knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.
His divine power has bestowed on us everything that makes for life and devotion, through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and power. Through these, he has bestowed on us the precious and very great promises, so that through them you may come to share in the divine nature, after escaping from the corruption that is in the world because of evil desire. For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, virtue with knowledge, knowledge with self-control, self-control with endurance, endurance with devotion, devotion with mutual affection, mutual affection with love. If these are yours and increase in abundance, they will keep you from being idle or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. Anyone who lacks them is blind and shortsighted, forgetful of the cleansing of his past sins. Therefore, brothers and sisters, be all the more eager to make your call and election firm, for, in doing so, you will never stumble. For in this way, entry into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be richly provided for you.

Yesterday Saturday Our Blessed Mother, Our Lady of Prince Edward Island, the Mother of Life, came to visit me. She always comes on December 14th and brings me a message. The message will appear in the Newsletter, which will come out in a few weeks.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord, the Son of God, given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“Open your hearts to receive all that I wish to give you, My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who truly believe that I am the Savior of the world. With faith you need to add virtue such as self-control, endurance, devotion, mutual affection and love. You all need to be filled with hope, faith and love, these theological virtues that will help you to follow the way that leads to the eternal kingdom of God. If you lack these, then you will surely get lost and follow the evil one instead of your Savior. Ask Me every day to increase these great virtues in you. There are other virtues too but dwell on these to start with. Without faith, hope and love you cannot be a Christian and you cannot be saved. I died for your salvation and I am working even today for your salvation. I love you all.”

Father Melvin

P.S. Our Blessed Mother loves you all.
