The Ascension of Jesus
Dear Friends,
Please read the passage below from the Acts of the Apostles (1:6-14):
When the Apostles had gathered together they asked him, “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?” He answered them, “It is not for you to know the times or seasons that the Father has established by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, throughout Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” When he had said this, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him from their sight. While they were looking intently at the sky as he was going, suddenly two men dressed in white garments stood beside them. They said, “Men of Galilee, why are you standing there looking at the sky? This Jesus who has been taken up from you into heaven will return in the same way as you have seen him going into heaven.” Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day’s journey away. When they entered the city they went to the upper room where they were staying, Peter and John and James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James son of Alphaeus, Simon the Zealot, and Judas son of James. All these devoted themselves with one accord to prayer, together with some women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and his brothers.
We had another nice day yesterday and the temperature reached 20 degrees Celsius. The Island looks very nice these days with the green grass and the farmers are busy planting potatoes. The Island is well known for its potatoes in most parts of the world. I hope to go fishing trout one day next week.
(Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,)
“I give a very special blessing to you, My brother Melvin and to all My brothers and sisters scattered all over the world. Today you celebrate My Ascension into heaven. The day of My Ascension was not Sunday but Thursday, ten days before the great day of Pentecost. The Church celebrates the Ascension on Sunday so that many more people can attend. It was on that Thursday that I walked up the Mount of Olivet with My Apostles and there in front of them, I was raised up to the sky and I disappeared behind a cloud. This meant that I disappeared from their eyes but you know that I am always here on earth. I am the Son of God and so I am everywhere. I remain among you in a very special way through the Holy Eucharist. You know that I am truly present in the host and in the chalice. So when you come to receive the Eucharist, you receive Me alive as I am in heaven sitting at the right hand of My Heavenly Father. I had to depart before your eyes so that the Holy Spirit could come down upon you. I wish to remind you all that the Holy Spirit is a Person, the third Person of the Blessed Trinity. Get ready now for the Feast of Pentecost so you can receive anew the Holy Spirit with an increase of all the gifts of the Holy Spirit. I am your Friend who loves you.”
