The Way of the Cross
Dear Friends,
Please read the passage below from the Gospel of St. Luke (23:26-32):
As they led Jesus away they took hold of a certain Simon, a Cyrenian, who was coming in from the country; and after laying the cross on him, they made him carry it behind Jesus. A large crowd of people followed Jesus, including many women who mourned and lamented him. Jesus turned to them and said, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me; weep instead for yourselves and for your children, for indeed, the days are coming when people will say, ‘Blessed are the barren, the wombs that never bore and the breasts that never nursed.’ At that time people will say to the mountains, ‘Fall upon us!’ and to the hills, ‘Cover us!’ for if these things are done when the wood is green what will happen when it is dry?” Now two others, both criminals, were led away with him to be executed.
Last evening I went to our parish church for the Way of the Cross and for Holy Mass. A good group of people attended. Next Friday, March 30, I will celebrate a Healing Mass at the Little Shrine of Our Lady. We will start with the rosary at 7:00 p.m. and it will be followed by Holy Mass at 7:30 p.m.
We know from the Way of the Cross that Jesus met His Blessed Mother along the Via Dolorosa. She was very sorrowful to see Her Son suffering so much and falling from the weight of the cross.
(Below you will find the message of Our Blessed Mother Mary given to Father Melvin. She spoke to him these words.)
“I am praying for you, My dear son Melvin and all My sons and daughters, who believe in My Son, Jesus, and follow Him every day. You know I followed My Son during the Way of the Cross and I met Him at one place. It was great pain for Me to see Him suffering so much. His face was covered with blood and I could see the soldiers beating Him. Although He fell three times, He got up and continued to walk along and for most of the time He carried the heavy cross. He could still teach the people as He went on His way to His crucifixion.
My dear children, open your hearts to your Savior so you can receive the graces and the strength to follow the way He traced out for you. I bless you.”
