The Question of the Resurrection
Dear Friends,
Some Sadducees, those who deny that there is a resurrection, came forward and put this question to Jesus, saying, “Teacher, Moses wrote for us, ‘If someone’s brother dies leaving a wife but no child, his brother must take the wife and raise up descendants for his brother.’ Now there were seven brothers; the first married a woman but died childless. Then the second and the third married her, and likewise all the seven died childless. Finally the woman also died. Now at the resurrection whose wife will that woman be? For all seven had been married to her.” Jesus said to them, “The children of this age marry and remarry; but those who are deemed worthy to attain to the coming age and to the resurrection of the dead neither marry nor are given in marriage. They can no longer die, for they are like angels; and they are the children of God because they are the ones who will rise. That the dead will rise even Moses made known in the passage about the bush, when he called ‘Lord’ the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob; and he is not God of the dead, but of the living, for to him all are alive.” Some of the scribes said in reply, “Teacher, you have answered well.” And they no longer dared to ask him anything. (Passage from the Gospel of St. Luke 20:27-40)
I was at the Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road, yesterday and I concelebrated Holy Mass with the Parish Priest. A large congregation was present. We had another letter from our Bishop who wrote about the proper posture at Mass and importance, like bending one‘s head before receiving Holy Communion and receiving the Holy Eucharist with devotion. He is preparing the people for the New Liturgy that will begin with the First Sunday of Advent.
(Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words:)
“I love you, My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters scattered all over the world. If you are a follower of Mine and you show your love to God and to your neighbor with acts of love, you will one day be in heaven and at the end of the world your body will rise from the dead. You will then go to heaven with a glorified body to live in happiness forever.
Yes there are some who do not believe in the resurrection. Just think of Me. I died on the cross and I was buried but after three days I came back to life with a glorified body and I appeared on earth for forty days to convince the Apostles that indeed I was risen from the dead. They could touch My glorified body but I could do with My body many things that human beings on earth cannot do. I could go through a wall and enter a house even though the doors were locked. At the end, on the Day of The Ascension, I rose up to heaven in the sight of all the Apostles. I am now in heaven with My body and My soul. I am the first one to rise from the dead. Come follow Me and believe in the resurrection and one day you too will rise from the dead with a glorified body. I bless you all.”
