Denunciation of the Scribes and Pharisees

Dear Friends,

Then Jesus spoke to the crowds and to his disciples, saying, “The scribes and the Pharisees have taken their seat on the chair of Moses. Therefore, do and observe all things whatsoever they tell you, but do not follow their example. For they preach but they do not practice. They tie up heavy burdens (hard to carry) and lay them on people’s shoulders, but they will not lift a finger to move them. All their works are performed to be seen. They widen their phylacteries and lengthen their tassels. They love places of honor at banquets, seats of honor in synagogues, greetings in marketplaces, and the salutation ‘Rabbi.’ As for you, do not be called ‘Rabbi.’ You have but one teacher, and you are all brothers. Call no one on earth your father; you have but one Father in heaven. Do not be called ‘Master'; you have but one master, the Messiah. The greatest among you must be your servant. Whoever exalts himself will be humbled; but whoever humbles himself will be exalted. (Passage from the Gospel of St. Matthew 23:1-12)

The retreat finished yesterday at noon and all were happy with the result. There was a good group in attendance for the three days. Some came as far away as New York and Connecticut; others came from New Brunswick and Nova Scotia and there were some too from Prince Edward Island. I was very pleased with the people who participated; they prayed with great faith and were good listeners.

I will go near Bouctouche, NB, at the Maury Farm on August 27 for a Healing Mass at 7:00 p.m. and I will have a Healing Mass at the Little Shrine of Our Lady of Prince Edward Island on the First Friday of the month of September, which is September 2, and the Healing Mass will start at 7:30 p.m. with the Rosary at 7:00 p.m.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“I bless you, My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters living all over the world. I am calling you every day to follow Me. Come and learn from Me and live your life by following My example. Do not be like the scribes and the Pharisees who were full of pride and considered themselves above everybody else and even above God. They would change the laws to fit themselves. They refused to accept Me although, through My acts and miracles, I was showing them that I had the power of God. I healed many people and these hypocrites said that I did it with the power of the devil. They forever objected to My teachings saying that what I taught them was false because these teachings went against their false teachings. They were always plotting to have Me killed. I tell you, never accept anything from such people. They were My enemies. At the end they had Me arrested and falsely condemned and nailed to a cross to die. The one they accused, tortured and killed was no one but the Son of God, the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity. However, I accepted what they did and I offered My Passion and death for the salvation of all the people of the world. Indeed I love you all.”
