Saul’s Conversion
Dear Friends,
Please read the passage below from the Acts of the Apostles (9:1-9):
Now Saul, still breathing murderous threats against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest and asked him for letters to the synagogues in Damascus, that, if he should find any men or women who belonged to the Way, he might bring them back to Jerusalem in chains. On his journey, as he was nearing Damascus, a light from the sky suddenly flashed around him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?” He said, “Who are you, sir?” The reply came, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. Now get up and go into the city and you will be told what you must do.” The men who were traveling with him stood speechless, for they heard the voice but could see no one. Saul got up from the ground, but when he opened his eyes he could see nothing; so they led him by the hand and brought him to Damascus. For three days he was unable to see, and he neither ate nor drank.
I was at our parish church last evening for one hour of adoration. We have the exposition of the Holy Eucharist in our parish every week on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. I love to go there and spend an hour with Jesus. He speaks to me and He especially gives me His peace and His love.
This morning I will celebrate Holy Mass at the Little Shrine of Our Lady of Prince Edward Island, the Mother of Life. I always celebrate Holy Mass at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays when I am home. There are always some people who come, as there is no Mass in our parish on those days. I thank the Lord that I have this little shrine so I can celebrate Mass there every day when I am home.
(Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Redeemer given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words.)
“I love you, My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters spread all over the world. Yes, My Church is in every country of the world and I have friends in all these countries. The conversion of people is of great importance to Me. One very important conversion was that of Saul who became Paul. Saul had persecuted the Church during the first years after I ascended into heaven. He wanted to destroy the Church I had built upon the Apostles. However, when he was on his way to Damascus to arrest more of My followers, I literally knocked him down from his horse. I spoke to him saying that he was persecuting Me. At the end he was blinded and they had to hold him by the hand and lead him to Damascus. From that day on he was totally converted and he worked hard for Me in many countries preaching the Word of God. Wherever you live there are people who do not believe in Me. First I ask you to pray for them that they may open their hearts to receive the gift of faith from Me. And do not be afraid to speak to them about Me, your Savior, and to tell them how you love Me. I bless you all with My peace, love and joy.”
