The Burial of Jesus
A reading from the Gospel of Saint John 19, 38 – 42:
After this, Joseph of Arimathea, secretly a disciple of Jesus for fear of the Jews, asked Pilate if he could remove the body of Jesus. And Pilate permitted it. So he came and took his body. Nicodemus, the one who had first come to him at night, also came bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes weighing about one hundred pounds. They took the body of Jesus and bound it with burial cloths along with the spices, according to the Jewish burial custom. Now in the place where he had been crucified there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb, in which no one had yet been buried. So they laid Jesus there because of the Jewish preparation day; for the tomb was close by.
I did not have time yesterday to write a message because I had visitors and they left late. There were some from Moncton, New Brunswick and others were from Ontario. Yesterday afternoon I was at the funeral of an elderly lady whom I knew very well. The funeral was at the Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road. We had a nice day today.
Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Redeemer given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“I bless you My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who believe that I died on the cross and was buried. You know that once they removed My body from the cross, they gave it to My Mother so She could hold Me for a time. It was a great suffering for Her to hold Her Son’s body having died in great pain. Then the men laid My body in the tomb and they place a big stone at the entrance to the tomb. You know, My friends, that My body stayed in the tomb for three days. It was on Sunday morning that I came back to life. This is the great miracle of My Resurrection. Yes, indeed, I am the Son of God, so I was not to stay long in the tomb. My Resurrection shows you all that indeed I am divine and the Savior of the world. Come and believe in Me, My dear brothers and sisters and you will indeed be blessed. I love you all.”
