The Trial before Pilate (3)
A reading from the Gospel of Saint John 19, 12 – 16:
The Jews cried out, “If you release Jesus, you are not a friend of Caesar. Everyone who makes himself a king opposes Caesar.”
When Pilate heard these words he brought Jesus out and seated him on the judge’s bench in the place called Stone Pavement, in Hebrew, Gabbatha. It was preparation day of the Passover, and it was about noon. And Pilate said to the Jews, “Behold, your king!” They cried out, “Take him away, take him away! Crucify him!” Pilate said to them, “Shall I crucify your king?” The chief priests answered, “We have no king but Caesar.” Then Pilate handed him over to them to be crucified.
I thank the Lord for the beautiful summer day we had on Tuesday with a full day of sunshine. I will went to adoration this evening at our Parish Church. We have adoration there at the parish every Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.
Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Redeemer given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“I bless you My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who have followed Me through all My sufferings during My Passion. It is true that Pontus Pilate tried to have Me released but the Jews objected strongly. They shouted these words, “Everyone who makes himself a king opposes Caesar, the Emperor of Rome.
Pilate called Me back to come outside where the Jews were and he said to them these words, “Behold, your king!” But the Jews did not accept me but instead they told him to take Me away and to crucify Me. Pilate told them shall I crucify your king but they said we have only one king and he is Caesar. At that Pontus Pilate handed Me over to the Jews so they could crucify Me.
My dear friends, you see that although Pontus Pilate did not find a reason to have Me killed, he just the same handed Me over to the Jews to crucify Me. I knew that I would die on the cross but for a very special reason. I wanted to save every person who believes in Me. Come then, My brothers and sisters, believe in Me your Savior with all your heart and cooperate with all the graces I give you so that you will climb the ladder of holiness and one day be with Me in heaven. I love you all.”
