The First Disciples
A reading from the Gospel of Saint John 1, 35 – 51:
The next day John was there again with two of his disciples, and as he watched Jesus walk by, he said, “Behold, the Lamb of God.” The two disciples heard what he said and followed Jesus. Jesus turned and saw them following him and said to them, “What are you looking for?” They said to him, “Rabbi” (which means Teacher), “where are you staying?” He said to them, “Come and you will see.” So they went and saw where he was staying and they stayed with him that day. It was about four in the afternoon. Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, was one of the two who heard John and followed Jesus. He first found his own brother Simon and told him, “We have found the Messiah” (which is translated Anointed). Then he brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, “You are Simon the son of John; you will be called Kephas (which is translated Peter.)
The next day he decided to go to Galilee, and he found Philip. And Jesus said to him, “Follow Me.” Now Philip was from Bethsaida, the town of Andrew and Peter. Philip found Nathanael and told him, “We have found the one about whom Moses wrote in the law, and also the prophets, Jesus son of Joseph, from Nazareth.” But Nathanael said to him, Can anything good come from Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and see.” Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him and said to him, “Here is a true Israelite. There is no duplicity in him.” Nathanael said to him, “How do you know me?” Jesus answered and said to him, “Before Philip called you, I saw you under the fig tree.” Nathanael answered him, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the King of Israel.” Jesus answered and said to him, “Do you believe because I told you that I saw you under the fig tree? You will see greater things than this.” And he said to him, “Amen, amen, I say to you, you will see the sky opened and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.”

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“I bless you all My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who read these words and follow Me every day. You know when I began My public life, one of the first things I did was to choose twelve Apostles. I used the number twelve because Israel was built on twelve tribes and now I want to start a new kingdom, which is My Church. John the Baptist spoke about Me as the Lamb of God and two of the men who were following him now came to follow Me. I called them to come and see where I stayed and they did and stayed with Me for a whole day. One of those men was Andrew and he went and brought his brother to Me. His brother’s name was Simon. When I saw him I changed his name to Peter. I knew then that he would be the head of My Church. Then as I went to Galilee, I found more of the Apostles. I had a special word for each one of them. At the end I told them that they would see the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man. The Apostles were to stay with Me until My death on the cross and until My Ascension into heaven. It was at Pentecost that the Holy Spirit came upon them and they began the work of My Church. That day they baptized three thousand people.
My dear friends, remain members of My Church and walk with Me every day. St. Peter is still with you today, he is the Pope of Rome whose name is Francis. Listen to him for he speaks in My name.”
