The Parable of the Dishonest Steward
A reading from the Gospel of Saint Luke 16, 1 – 8:
Then Jesus also said to his disciples, “A rich man had a steward who was reported to him for squandering his property. He summoned him and said, ‘What is this I hear about you? Prepare a full account of your stewardship, because you can no longer be my steward.’ The steward said to himself, ‘What shall I do, now that my master is taking the position of steward away from me? I am not strong enough to dig and I am ashamed to beg. I know what I shall do so that, when I am removed from the stewardship, they may welcome me into their homes.’ He called in his master’s debtors one by one. To the first he said, ‘How much do you owe my master?’ He replied, ‘One hundred measure of olive oil.’ He said to him, ‘Here is your promissory note. Sit down and quickly write one for fifty.’ Then to another he said, ‘And you, how much do you owe?’ He replied, ‘One hundred kors of wheat.’ He said to him, ‘Here is your promissory note, write one for eighty.’ And the master commended that dishonest steward for acting prudently.
I always have problems with bills. I will need new tyres for my van this month and this means more money. A tyre for a van is expensive enough today about $175.00. So I pray that I will be able to find the money to buy these tyres. Please pray with me that the money will come. Thank you very much.
Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“I call you to be honest My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who walk with Me. The parable I gave to My Apostles about the dishonest steward shows what happened to such a person when he is caught. He will be asked to leave his job with the result that he will be in great difficulty as he will have no money for food and for the others things he needs.
What does this story mean for you? The steward is all of you who live in the world. The master is your Heavenly Father. The Father has given you the ten commandments which you are all to follow. However, most of you have not followed the commandments and in that case you have sinned. If you sin and refuse to repent of all your sins, then you will be thrown out of the Kingdom of God and you will be sent to hell. No one who sins and refuse to repent can enter heaven. However, this is why I came on earth to suffer and offer Myself in sacrifice for your sins. Now all that you have to do is to receive the sacrament of penance and the priest will absolve you from all your sins and you will return to the Kingdom of God. All the people of the world need to repent of their sins and they will be saved. I love you all and I am calling you to return to Me. I bless you all.”
