The Demand for a Sign
A reading from the Gospel of Saint Luke 11, 29 – 32:
While still more people gathered in the crowd, Jesus said to them, “This generation is an evil generation, it seeks a sign, but no sign will be given it, except the sign of Jonah. Just as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites, so will the Son of Man be to this generation. At the judgment the queen of the south will rise with the men of this generation and she will condemn them, because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and there is something greater than Solomon here. At the judgment the men of Niveveh will arise with this generation and condemn it, because at the preaching of Jonah they repented, and there is something greater than Jonah here.”
The storm has arrived, It started around 7:00 a.m. on Sunday and it snowed all day. The wind came up and now it is blowing at 90 km an hour with gusts up to 140 km an hour. You cannot see anything outside because of the blowing snow and there is a snowbank at my back door that is about 10 feet high. I hope this storm stops soon and I pray that we will not loose electricity. Otherwise we will freeze overnight.
Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“Do you doubt Me My brother Melvin and all My sons and daughters who have known Me for years now. I lived for thirty-three years with the Jews and when I began My public life, they did not want to accept Me as the Messiah, the Savior of the world. They saw all the miracles I performed and still they were asking for a sign. Truly I told them that they were an evil generation as they did not accept Me. I refused to give them a sign except the sign of Jonah. Jonah was a great prophet of the Jewish people and My Father asked him to go to Nineveh, a large city, and to tell them to repent of their sins or their city would be destroyed shortly. Jonah was afraid to go there at the beginning but after a miraculous experience he decided to go. When he got to Nineveh, he preached to them to repent or they would all die. They accepted his word and all repented and their city was spared. The queen of the south would condemn this generation because she came all the way from Ethiopia to listen to King Solomon and now here among you is one who is greater than King Solomon. I am greater than him because I am the Son of God, sent to earth by My Heavenly Father to teach you the truth and to offer Myself in sacrifice for your salvation. You today have heard all the great miracles I did when I was on earth. Let Me mention a few of them: the healing of lepers, giving eyesight to the blind and hearing to the deaf. I also raised the dead to life including Lazarus and others. I fed the 5,000 people with five loaves of bread and a few fish. With these miracles one should know that only God could do such things and therefore I am the Son of God. I call you all then to accept Me as Your Savior who has come to save you all and to bring you to heaven when you leave this earth. Know that I will return to earth again one day and it will be to judge the living and the dead. Come then and follow Me for I am your only Savior. Do not accept any other and watch out that you do not follow the evil one. I bless you all.”
