The Birth of Jesus
A reading from the Gospel of Saint Luke 2, 1 – 14:
In those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that the whole world should be enrolled. This was the first enrollment when Quirinius was governor of Syria. So all went to be enrolled, each to his own town. And Joseph too went up from Galilee from the town of Nazareth to Judea, to the city of David that is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David, to be enrolled with Mary, his betrothed, who was with child. While they were there, the time came for her to have her child, and she gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. Now there were shepherds in that region living in the fields and keeping the night watch over their flock. The angel of the Lord appeared to them and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were struck with great fear. The angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For today in the city of David a savior has been born for you who is Messiah and Lord. And this will be a sign for you; you will find an infant wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger.” And suddenly there was a multitude of the heavenly host with the angel, praising God and saying:
“Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
The Great Day of the birth of Jesus has arrived. I remembered when I was in Bethlehem I went to the place where Our Blessed Mother gave birth to Her Son Jesus. I knelt there and prayed at this holy place. The manger is still there but I do not know if it is the same one. It was right over this place that the star came down and shone bright over the place and the city. The angles too were there singing. That first Christmas was the great moment when God was born on earth as a human being. They could see God with their eyes and He was just a tiny baby and He had to be taken care of by His Mother and Saint Joseph. Our Savior arrived that day to show us His love and to establish His Kingdom on earth. We are all called to be part of His Kingdom.
Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“Rejoice My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters for My great day has arrived. With the bright star of the Father and a multitude of angels, My Mother delivered Me in a stable in Bethlehem with the animals all around. She was with My Foster Father Joseph when She gave birth to Me. Yes, I was just a tiny baby like everyone human being at birth but My Heavenly Father recognized Me as His Son. I was wrapped in clothes and My Mother laid Me in a manger which was used to feed the animals. The people of Bethlehem could see the bright star and at the beginning they did not know what was going on. However, an angel went into the field were shepherds were taking care of the sheep and he told them that the Messiah, the Lord, had been born. Then he was united with the other angels and they sang a beautiful song which you should sing on My Birthday. The song is: “Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.” Indeed the shepherds went up to Bethlehem and to the stable and they saw the infant Jesus with His Mother and they worshipped Him. Many of the people of Bethlehem also came to the stable and worshipped Me as an infant. On that First Christmas, a new world began. Now I, the Son of God, am living with you My brothers and sisters. Although I ascended into heaven, yet I am still with you although you cannot see Me with your eyes. At times you can feel My presence in you and at times you can hear My words spoken in your heart. I love you all.”
P.S. The Lord calls us all to Holy Mass for His Great Feast of His Nativity.
I wish you all a Holy and Blessed Christmas.
