The Remnant of Israel
A reading from Saint Paul’s Letter to the Romans 11, 1 – 10:
I ask, then, has God rejected his people? Of course not! For I too am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. God has not rejected his people whom he foreknew. Do you not know what the scriptures says about Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel? “Lord, they have killed your prophets, they have torn down your altars, and I alone am left, and they are seeking my life.” But what is God’s response to him? “I have left for myself seven thousand men who have not knelt to Baal.” So also at the present time there is a remnant, chosen by grace. But if by grace, it is no longer because of works, otherwise grace would no longer be grace. What then? What Israel was seeking it did not attain, but the elect attained it, the rest were hardened, as it is written:
“God gave them a spirit of deep sleep, eyes that should not see and ears that should not hear, down to this very day.”
And David says: “Let their table become a snare and a trap, a stumbling block and a retribution for them; let their eyes grow dim so that they may not see, and keep their backs bent forever.”
A person phoned me today telling me that the Lord has been very good to her. She phoned me in the past asking for prayers for she had much pain from a number of sicknesses. She was in distress with all that she was living. Now, she is in great joy and the pain has gone and she feels that the Lord has given her many healings. I thank the Lord for all that He did with this woman and she asks me to pray for her that she will always be committed to the Lord and to His Church for the rest of her life.
Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“As Saint Paul, I was born a Jew because My Mother Mary was a Jewess and My foster father, Joseph, was also a Jew. So why is it that so many Jews do not believe in Me and are not devoted to Me? Has the Father rejected them all? No, the Father has not rejected them all. There is still a remnant today who believe in Me and follow Me. The former Archbishop of Paris in France was born a Jew but he was converted by a special grace and he became a priest and the Archbishop of Paris. There are some Jews in Israel and outside of their home country who are Catholics and they have great faith in Me. They are men and women of prayer.
In some Gentile countries we see that many Catholics have abandoned the faith and only a remnant of these people today believe in Me. One of these countries is England, and there are others too: Holland, Belgium, France, Switzerland and in Canada there are many Catholics who do not pray or go to church anymore especially in the Province of Quebec.
However, I call upon you My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters to remain devoted to Me with great faith. Never stop to pray at home and to go regularly to Church to pray and take part at Holy Mass and receive Me in Holy Communion. Never forget to go to confession to receive absolution for your sins. Pray daily for those who have lost their faith that they may receive this great gift again and return to Me. I bless you all and I give you all the graces you need.”
Father Melvin
P.S. It was cloudy today but we did not have any rain.
