Children of God through Adoption
A reading from Saint Paul’s Letter to the Romans 8, 14 – 17:
For those who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you received a spirit of adoption, through which we cry, Abba “Father.” The Spirit itself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs, heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if only we suffer with him so that we may also be glorified with him.
Pope Francis beatified Pope Paul VI who was pope after John XXIII who started the Second Vatican Council. Blessed John XXIII died before the Council was over and so Pope Paul VI took over and brought the Council to an end. It was Blessed Paul VI that wrote the encyclical on contraceptive and said that Catholics should not take that for God wants that all married couples should be opened to have children. However, today not many Catholics follow what Blessed Paul VI wrote. Now the Synod of Bishops ended on October 19th and we will only know next year what the result of the Synod was. There will be an ordinary Synod next year about the same subject: namely, the family.
Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“You are all children of God My son Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who have faith in Me and follow Me. I came into the world as your Savior and I offered Myself in sacrifice to take away all your sins. At the end the Father and I sent the Holy Spirit into the world, first on the Apostles gathered in Jerusalem and secondly on all those who receive the Sacrament of Baptism and the Sacrament of Confirmation. Now the Holy Spirit lives in you and truly you are the adopted children of the Father. You call the Father “Abba” and that is what He truly is. If you are children of God then you are heirs of God for you are heirs with Me. If you are heirs then you must work hard to enter heaven and to be glorified there. Whenever you suffer, suffer together with Me and I will bring you home in heaven one day. I love you and bless you.”

P.S. We had a beautiful sunny day on Monday and I thank the Lord for this day.
