The Sentence of Death

A reading from the Gospel of Saint Matthew 27, 15 – 26:

Now on the occasion of the feast the governor was accustomed to release to the crowd one prisoner whom they wished. And at that time they had a notorious prisoner called Barabbas. So when they had assembled, Pilate said to them, “Which one do you want me to release to you, Barabbas, or Jesus called Messiah?” For he knew that it was out of envy that they had handed him over. While he was still seated on the bench, his wife sent him a message, “Have nothing to do with that righteous man. I suffered much in a dream today because of him.” The chief priests and the elders persuaded the crowds to ask for Barabbas but to destroy Jesus. The governor said to them in reply, “Which of the two do you want me to release to you?” They answered, “Barabbas!” Pilate said to them, “Then what shall I do with Jesus called Messiah?” They all said, “Let him be crucified!” But he said, “Why? What evil has be done?” They only shouted the louder, “Let him be crucified!” When Pilate saw that he was not succeeding at all, but that a riot was breaking out instead, he took water and washed his hands in the sight of the crowd, saying, “I am innocent of this man’s blood. Look to it yourselves.” And the whole people said in reply, “His blood be upon us and upon our children.” Then he released Barabbas to them, but after he had Jesus scourged, he handed him over to be crucified..

I received good news yesterday. A priest living in Paris, France, had cancer and I was asked to pray for him. It was announced yesterday the Feast of Pentecost that the priest is now completely healed. He has no more trace of cancer. Let us thank the Lord for healing this priest.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“I bless you My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who have great faith in Me. During My trial before Pilate, the Jewish people did not believe in Me as the Messiah, the Savior of the world. I was hated by the chief priests and the elders and by the crowd assembled before Pontus Pilate. The people chose to release Barabbas, a great sinner, instead of Me. Pilate asked them what he should do with Me, Jesus. The people shouted these words, “Let him be crucified.” Even the wife of Pilate sent word to him saying, “Have nothing to do with that righteous man.” So Pilate washed his hands and said to the people, “I am innocent of this man’s blood.” Then he had Me scourged severely and handed Me over to be crucified.
My dear brothers and sisters, I offered all the sufferings of My Passion and My death on the cross to take away your sins, to win you great graces and if you follow Me, to be united with Me in heaven forever. Although the Jewish people rejected Me and refused to accept that I am the Messiah, I also died for them that one day all the people of this nation may be converted. Already many have become Christians and more will come to believe in Me in the future. I wish to tell you all that something great is coming throughout the world so pray that I will be believed in by every nation in the world. I love you all.”

Father Melvin

P.S. It was sunny and warm on Monday. The temperature reached 23 degrees Celsius and for this I thank the Lord. May the Lord bless you all.
