Jesus before the Sanhedrin
A reading from the Gospel of Saint Matthew 26, 57 – 68:
Those who had arrested Jesus led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled. Peter was following him at a distance as far as the high priest’s courtyard, and going inside he sat down with the servants to see the outcome. The chief priests and the entire Sanhedrin kept trying to obtain false testimony against Jesus in order to put him to death, but they found none, though many false witnesses came forward. Finally two came forward who stated, “This man said, ‘I can destroy the temple of God and within three days rebuild it.’ The high priest rose and addressed him, “Have you no answer? What are these men testifying against you?” But Jesus was silent. Then the high priest said to him, “I order you to tell us under oath before the living God whether you are the Messiah, the Son of God.” Jesus said to him in reply, “You have said so. But I tell you:
From now on you will see ‘the Son of Man seated at the right hand of the Power’ and ‘coming on the clouds of heaven.”‘
Then the high priest tore his robes and said, “He has blasphemed! What further need have we of witnesses? You have now heard the blasphemy; what is your opinion?” They said in reply, “He deserves to die!” Then they spat in his face and struck him, while some slapped him, saying, “Prophesy for us, Messiah: who is it that struck you?”
There is a horrible thing that has happened in Moncton, New Brunswick, a town not far from where I live. It takes only two and one-half hour for me to drive there. A man of only 24 years of age shot five RCMP policemen on Wednesday and three are dead and two are in hospital. Finally last night this fellow was arrested and is now in prison. Let us pray that these horrible actions will end. Let us pray for peace.
Below you will find the message of Our Blessed Mother given to Father Melvin. She spoke to me these words,
“I love you My son Melvin and all My sons and daughters living in every country of the world. What pain I suffered when I heard that the soldiers had arrested My Son Jesus and brought Him to the Sanhedrin, the top court of the Jews. They said all kinds of lies against Him because there was one thing that they wanted to do with Him. They wanted to kill Him. When the high priest asked Him if He was the Messiah, the Son of God, My Son Jesus answered that He was the Messiah. The members of the Sanhedrin did not accept that He was the Messiah, the Savior of the world. The high priest said that Jesus had blasphemed. Of course you all know that He said the truth because He is truly the Messiah, the Son of God, sent by the Father to redeem you all. The chief priest asked the opinion of the Sanhedrin on what Jesus had said, and they answered that He deserved to die. They then spat in His face and struck him and others slapped Him. To make fun of Him they asked, “Prophesy for us, Messiah: who is it that struck you?” Now they felt they had a reason to kill Him but He had not done anything wrong. He just said the truth. Remember My sons and daughters that He suffered all this for you who are sinners. He suffered and died to atone for your sins. He loves you and I love you too.”

P.S. We had a mostly rainy day on Friday but the temperature was around 15 degrees Celsius. It will rain again on Saturday. I am praying for all of you.
