The Beginning of the Galilean Ministry

A reading from the Gospel of Saint Matthew 4, 12 – 22:

When Jesus heard that John had been arrested, he withdrew to Galilee. He left Nazareth and went to live in Capernaum by the sea, in the region of Zebulon and Naphtali, that what had been said through Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled:
“Land of Zebulon and land of Naphtali, the way to the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles, the people who sit in darkness have seen a great light, on those dwelling in a land overshadowed by death, light has arisen.”
As Jesus was walking by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon who is called Peter, and his brother Andrew, casting a net into the sea, they were fishermen. He said to them, “Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.” At once they left their nets and followed him. He walked along from there and saw two other brothers, James, the son of Zebedee, and his brother John. There were in a boat, with their father Zebedee, mending their nets. He called them, and immediately they left their boat and their father and followed him.

Today Monday we had to dig out of the snow that had fallen on Saturday and Sunday. There was not that much around my house but in some parts of the roads the snowbanks were up to 20 feet high but these roads were all cleared and now we can get around.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“I call you all My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters to believe that I am the Messiah, the Savior of the world, and I began My ministry in Galilee in the north of Israel. I was staying at Capernaum near the Sea of Galilee. One day as I was walking along the sea I saw Peter and Andrew, two brothers, and I called them to be My disciples and later on they would become My Apostles. Then I saw two other brothers, James and John, and I called these too to follow Me and they got up and followed Me. I selected twelve men to prepare them to be My Apostles and they traveled with Me for three years to all the places I went. They heard My teachings and saw all My healings and miracles such as the resurrection of Lazarus from the dead. I wanted them to be with Me so they would have great faith in Me and after My resurrection they would travel to many parts of the world to preach the Good News I left them. This indeed is what they did except Judas. The other eleven are all saints and they are with Me in heaven. They are praying for all of you every day that you all come to join them in heaven one day. I bless you and I give you all the graces you need.”
