Unity and Variety

Dear Friends,
A reading from Saint Paul’s First Letter to the Corinthians (1 Cor 12:1-11):

Now in regard to spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be unaware. You know how, when you were pagans, you were constantly attracted and led away to mute idols. Therefore, I tell you that nobody speaking by the spirit of God says, “Jesus be accursed.” And no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.
There are different kinds of spiritual gifts but the same Spirit; there are different forms of service but the same Lord; there are different workings but the same God who produces all of them in everyone. To each individual the manifestation of the Spirit is given for some benefit. To one is given through the Spirit the expression of wisdom; to another the expression of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit; to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit; to another mighty deeds; to another prophecy; to another discernment of spirits; to another varieties of tongues; to another interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit produces all of these, distributing them individually to each person as he wishes.

There was much rain in many parts of the Island yesterday, but very little rain fell where I live. It rained for a few minutes last evening and there was no thunder.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“You have been baptized and confirmed and so you have received the Holy Spirit, My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who follow My Church. Perhaps some have prayed over you for the baptism of the Spirit and you felt filled totally with the Holy Spirit. By doing this, you have received many spiritual gifts that were dormant in you. You have all received the Holy Spirit through the sacraments, but the gifts can be dormant until they are revived. Through the charismatic movement, the gifts can be revived and then you can use them to help others. Most receive the gift of speaking in tongues and praying in tongues. Others receive the gift of healing from the Holy Spirit and you know if you have that gift when a person has been healed after you prayed over him or her. There are many wonderful gifts of the Holy Spirit and you should keep your heart opened to receive whatever the Holy Spirit wants to give you. I am working with the Holy Spirit and I love you.”
