The Authority of Jesus Questioned

Dear Friends,
A reading from St. Luke’s Gospel (
20:1-8):
One day as [Jesus] was teaching the people in the temple area and proclaiming the good news, the chief priests and scribes, together with the elders, approached him and said to him, “Tell us, by what authority are you doing these things? Or who is the one who gave you this authority?” He said to them in reply, “I shall ask you a question. Tell me, was John’s baptism of heavenly or of human origin?” They discussed this among themselves, and said, “If we say, ‘Of heavenly origin,’ he will say, ‘Why did you not believe him?’ But if we say, ‘Of human origin,’ then all the people will stone us, for they are convinced that John was a prophet.” So they answered that they did not know from where it came. Then Jesus said to them, “Neither shall I tell you by what authority I do these things.”

Yesterday the temperature was 14 degrees Celsius and almost all the snow is gone. It was windy all day and it rained much. There is plenty of water on the roads still now. We should have a nice day today.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord, the Son of God, given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“As your Lord and Savior, I greet you My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who follow Me. I did not need to receive permission from any person to preach the Good News, to heal the sick, or to chase away the evil spirits. As the Son of God, I had all that power and I used it when I felt it was needed. However, the Jewish leaders did not accept that. They wanted to know where I got this authority because they did not believe in Me as the Messiah. Because of their lack of faith, that is why I was rebuked often, arrested and finally I was nailed to a cross to die a horrible death.
“I know My dear friends that you truly believe in Me as the Son of God and the Savior of the world. My only reason to come on earth as a human being was to suffer and die for you in order to open heaven for you and to atone for all your sins. Now come My dear brothers and sisters and repent of all your sins and I will take them all away. I want you with Me all the time. I love you all.”
