The Parable of the Lost Son (2)
Dear Friends,
A reading from St. Luke’s Gospel (15:25-32):
[Jesus said:] “Now the older son had been out in the field and, on his way back, as he neared the house, he heard the sound of music and dancing. He called one of the servants and asked what this might mean. The servant said to him, ‘Your brother has returned and your father has slaughtered the fattened calf because he has him back safe and sound.’ He became angry, and when he refused to enter the house, his father came out and pleaded with him. He said to his father in reply, ‘Look, all these years I served you and not once did I disobey your orders; yet you never gave me even a young goat to feast on with my friends. But when your son returns who swallowed up your property with prostitutes, for him you slaughter the fattened calf.’ He said to him, ‘My son, you are here with me always; everything I have is yours. But now we must celebrate and rejoice, because your brother was dead and has come to life again; he was lost and has been found.’“

I thank you all, my friends, who have supported me during this winter. So far I have enough money to buy heating oil and I was able to pay most of my bills. I still have some to pay yet. I am praying for you all that the Lord keeps you in good health and that He fills you with His love, peace and joy.
Below you will find the message of Our Lord, the Son of God, given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“I call you all to love especially you My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who meet people every day. You know that envy is a sin and destroys the love you have in your heart. This is what we see in the Parable of the Lost Son. The brother is angry and full of envy because of what his father has done. He has welcomed the other son with music and dancing and he has killed the fattened calf. The son who was always at home thinks that his father did not show much love to him. Never was he given even a young goat to feast with his friends. This is often what we see when a sinner returns to the Church and to Me. Those who knew this sinner may not be happy to see him at Church with them. They might object to see him going to Holy Communion and call him a sinner. Yet a man can repent of his sins and if he does I will forgive him and call him to return to church and to receive the sacraments. All Christians should be happy to see such a person converted. Pray My dear friends for the conversion of those who live far from Me. I bless you all.”
