The Return from Egypt

Dear Friends,
A reading from St.
Matthew’s Gospel (2:19-23):
When Herod had died, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt and said, “Rise, take the child and his mother and go to the land of Israel, for those who sought the child’s life are dead.” He rose, took the child and his mother, and went to the land of Israel. But when he beard that Archelaus was ruling over Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go back there. And because he had been warned in a dream, he departed for the region of Galilee. He went and dwelt in a town called Nazareth, so that what had been spoken through the prophets might be fulfilled, “He shall be called a Nazorean.”

Yesterday Friday we had some snow but it rained off and on during the day. A lot of the snow that fell on Thursday night disappeared but there is slush here and there. Again I thank all those who sent me donations in the last few weeks. It is a great help to buy heating oil and to pay my bills. May the Lord bless you all for all your help.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“Do not fear My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who believe in Me and follow Me. I lived for some years in Egypt when I was very young. My foster father Joseph was a carpenter so he could work most of the time and so we didn’t suffer. We had enough to eat. When Herod died, an angel came to Joseph while he was sleeping and told him that we should all return to Israel for those who wanted to kill me were all dead. Indeed we traveled from the border of Egypt to Jerusalem and when Joseph heard that Herod’s son was now the king, Joseph decided to go and live in Nazareth. This is the town I grew up in and I stayed there until I started My public life.
“Today many people move from country to country. Because of suffering in their countries, they decide to find a peaceful place. It is not easy to adapt to a foreign land but after awhile one gets use to the new country. If you should move, remember that I am with you and I will help you. I will give you the graces you need and the enlightenment to help you to find the peace you need. Repent of all your sins and never forget that I am your Savior who has all power. I love you all.”
